Jerdon's Bushchat

Handsome but uncommon bushchat. Male’s clean black-and-white coloration is unmistakable. Female is rich brown above and white below, without the contrasting throat and eyebrow of the female Gray Bushchat. A lowland and hill species, predominantly found in open areas with medium-height to tall grasses and shrubbery. Hawks flying insects from a conspicuous perch. Song is a brief, sweet descending series of notes ending in a churr.
